I graduated from FTHS in 2015, with a 3.9 GPA, I assumed I was well prepared for college, but my second day, I had my first chemistry class. I was completely overwhelmed by the content and realized that my skills were inadequate. I was horrified thinking about continuing college without the proper knowledge and techniques; and failing. I was panicking beyond belief and quickly became so disheartened that I was ready to give up my lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. It was then that I was referred to LearningRx by my Nana. Before I began LearningRx, I must admit, I was a little apprehensive. I’ve been to countless tutor-like help programs and all fell short of my expectations. When I started, however, I was excited and incredibly surprised about how fun the program was and how I was beginning to see, even small improvements within the first few sessions. I was overjoyed because in college there were concepts that I finally understood, even when they seemed impossible during high school. Subjects that I struggled with in high school, like chemistry, became like a breeze. I cannot even begin to describe how LearningRx and my trainer, Alanna, changed my life. After my sessions at LearningRx, I was offered a Peer Tutor position by the head of the tutoring department at my University because of my drastic improvements. I found that doing daily tasks are simple and well organized. I got a promotion at work because of how well I was doing. Even simple things like my reflexes drastically improved because my attention is now more focused. I also found that my IQ jumped up almost 30 points. Best of all, I am now more confident in my abilities, and in myself. I have self-confidence like I never have before and thanks to LearningRx I can’t wait to see what life has in store for me. I am currently saving up my money right now so I can start another program.
